"Nothing is so unbelievable that oratory cannot make it acceptable" - Marcus Cicero. There is more than just a grain of truth to this statement, and conversational covert hypnosis is the medium by which you can make the unbelievable become the acceptable. In this article you are going to learn three conversational hypnosis basics that will allow you to gain a fundamental understanding of indirect manual suggestion, nlp, and persuading others without them realizing what you are doing.
1. Gaining Rapport And Attention
The first step to conversational covert hypnotism is to gain the attention of your subject, then build a rapport with them. Basically the aim of doing this is to lower their natural defensive mechanisms, thereby making the subject much more open to your suggestions and ideas. You must seek the co-operation of the subjects unconscious mind. This can be achieved through such means as:
* Listening attentively to the subject. Everyone loves to be listened to, and a good listener will instantly be liked more.
* Being enthusiastic.
* Show an interest in the subject's hobbies, activities, or work.
* Adopt/carefully mimic their body language, gestures, and register of language to appeal to their level of conversation.
2. Put The Subject Into A "Trance"
In covert conversational hypnosis, a trance doesn't mean the "wave a pendulum back and forth" style trance, but it basically means getting the subject to a point where they are literally waiting on your every word and believing/accepting what you are saying, all without being fully aware of it. This is done through building rapport without breaking trust or revealing your intentions. Although it may sound crazy, think about people in positions of power- we tend to listen to them and accept everything they say, all because they have immediate rapport.
3. Make Suggestions Via Presupposition
One of the most powerful techniques of conversational hypnosis is making suggestions via presupposition. This effectively means that you make a statement where your intentions and desires are expressed through the statement. By doing this you will remain in a position of power, and the ability for the subject to deny your suggestions is greatly reduced. Here are a few basic examples for you to chew over:
* "I'm going to grab a coffee this afternoon, come with me" (as opposed to "would you like to grab a coffee this afternoon?")
* "We should continue this meeting at a later date when staff morale is greater" (as opposed to "do you think we should continue this meeting later?)
* "The first thing you will notice about this new model car is its quality finish, the second thing you will notice is the excellent pricing scheme" (because the subject will notice the first thing and accept it, they will automatically be more inclined to accept the second thing)
