Hypnosis Healing - Why It Works

In the area of mental, emotional and physical healing it is true to say that one size does not fit all. One modality can work for some and not for others. Hypnosis as a healing modality has grown to enjoy the respect it deserves in the field of personal and physical therapy. Hypnosis healing has been found to be an effective approach for issues such as sleep problems, weight management, quitting smoking, relieving fear, anxiety and depression, relieving physical pain to mention but a few.

Hypnosis works on the basis that the mind is a pliable, programmable entity that unconsciously runs the programs it has been conditioned to run throughout life. By allowing the mind to relax and training it to run programs that benefit the whole being, a newer way of living can emerge.

Hypnosis techniques vary but some of the most popular hypnosis healing models are hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming and self-hypnosis. A deep hypnosis can be felt as a rich meditative experience where mind and body relax and become open to suggestions that can help most.

My own experience with hypnosis began in the college canteen several years ago as my friends and I gazed in amusement and glad surprise at some very cute boys who had been bewitched by an entertainment hypnotist into walking around the stage bare-chested, a novel experience in Catholic Ireland. My true appreciation of the art however began with my investigations into hypnotherapy as a tool for anxiety and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) as a tool for making friends with and freeing the mind.

Hypnosis is arguably one of the more effective methods of gaining control over one's habits and behaviours, one's life and circumstances and one's general wellbeing. Its magic draws me back to it again and again. To experience the scope of hypnosis healing you need only try it to become hooked.
